Derbyshire Blue John & Opalique Teardrop Silver Pendant and Chain

We have for sale a beautiful sterling silver Blue John double sided pendant. It has been beautifully hand crafted in Sheffield, England. In a Teardrop design, set with a unique piece of Derbyshire Blue John and Opalique. A 18" sterling silver curb chain is supplied as standard, other lengths are available.

Blue John stone is a rare, semiprecious mineral, fluorite, found at only one location in the world. This is at Treak Cliff Cavern which is at the western end of Hope Valley near Castleton in Derbyshire, England. The name Blue John derives from the French Bleu Jaune, meaning Blue John. It was first discovered by miners exploring the cavern for lead.

Opalique is produced by setting small shards of Opal in to resin to produce a beautiful sparkling stone with many varied colours.
