Derbyshire Blue John and Opalique 9ct Yellow Gold Oval Pendant Necklace

We have for sale a simply stunning 9ct gold Blue John Double sided pendant. It has been beautifully hand crafted in Sheffield, England, and features a Hallmark from the Sheffield Assay Office. In an oval shape, and set with a beautiful unique piece of Derbyshire Blue John on one side and Opalique  on the other. Blue John stone is a rare, semiprecious mineral, fluorite, found at only one location in the world. This is at Treak Cliff Cavern which is at the western end of Hope Valley near Castleton in Derbyshire, England. The name Blue John derives from the French Bleu Jaune, meaning Blue John. It was first discovered by miners exploring the cavern for lead.

Opalique is produced by setting small shards of Opal in to resin to produce a beautiful sparkling stone with many varied colours.
